The DCIS patient booklet is the only free booklet that is specifically for women who have been diagnosed with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ). It helps women and their family members understand that DCIS is much less dangerous than breast cancer. It also provides the information they need to make the treatment choices that are best for them. Printed copies are also available by mail upon request at info@stopcancerfund.org. In addition, our Free Facts about DCIS brochure is available online for free for health professionals or patients seeking scientific data on DCIS treatment options.
The prostate cancer screening booklet is a free booklet that cuts through the confusion about the benefits and risks of PSA screening and other screening tests for men. It is specifically for men who do not have any symptoms of prostate cancer. It explains why many physicians no longer recommend annual prostate cancer screening. The booklet is available online only.
The booklet for women with early-stage breast cancer was developed by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Cancer Institute (NCI) in partnership with the National Center for Health Research and its Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund. It focuses on surgery choices, including mastectomy, lumpectomy, and breast reconstruction. It is no longer in print but is available for free online here.
